Hi There!
It’s nice to meet you virtually. Let me tell you a bit about myself. In 2010 I graduated from the Body Therapy Institute in Siler City, NC and began my career as a massage therapist.
I have not always been a massage therapist. I spent most of my adult life in New York City working in international philanthropy. I have a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. After twenty years of sitting at a desk and working non-stop, my body told me I needed a major lifestyle change - thankfully, I listened! I moved to Durham to be closer to family and began my next chapter.
In addition to practicing massage therapy, I am also a certified yoga instructor through YogaWorks and a former lead teacher of Anatomy, Physiology, Kinsesiology and Pathology at the Body Therapy Institute. My background in yoga and anatomy gives me a thorough understanding of how the body is designed to move, as well as an appreciation of the vitally important role that relaxation and restoration play in our overall health. This background informs my work as a massage therapist.
In my free time I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, baking, volunteering at the Animal Protection Society of Durham, and spending time with my APS alum, Lima Bean!
